“I had read about the benefits of strength training long before I decided to do it. I knew that working with a trainer was the only way I would exercise correctly and stick with it. In the year I’ve been training with Franklin, I’ve become remarkably stronger. I actually can’t remember when I’ve been in better shape, even though I’m 60.

"I have some back pain from sports injuries, but Franklin has helped me work through that with a dose of core exercises in my workouts. He continues to add a variety of new exercises to keep the workout interesting and challenging. I didn’t know you could work so many muscle groups in a single exercise. My two CoachMeFit appointments are bright spots in my week.”

“When I started training with Lindsay I intended to train with her for six months. That was six years ago. I had participated in sports and was active all my life but as I entered middle age I realized the importance of weight training to having a healthy, active life as I got older. I remember discovering that I had so little upper body strength that I could hardly do two push-ups from my knees.

“Training has made a remarkable difference in me. At 57, I feel almost as strong as I was in my 20s. Lindsay incorporates exercises to improve my flexibility and balance so my body won’t limit me from enjoying life into my “golden years.” She creates workouts for me to do at home and counsels me on how to keep my weight down. I couldn’t ask for a more accommodating, committed trainer who is also a joy to work with.

“I’ve been impressed with how knowledgeable all of the trainers at CoachMeFit are about exercise physiology. It’s a treat to be around such supportive, positive people.”

“I used to come home worn out and with lower back pain after working all day as a physical therapist. I realized being out of shape was a major cause of that. I started training at CoachMeFit with Bill Morel about ten months ago and it dramatically changed how I feel physically and mentally. It has made my work easier, eliminated my back pain, increased my strength and endurance, and reduced my stress.

“One of my goals when I started at CoachMeFit was to run a 5K, and on July 4th I did … in 41:20. My new goal is to run a 5K in less than 40 minutes. While I am aware this won't qualify me for the Olympic trials, the amount of satisfaction I got from crossing the finish line made every hour, every treadmill session, and every weight I've lifted worth it.

“Training at CoachMeFit has given me a much better perspective on life. Occasionally, I look at other gyms and trainers but none of them even comes close to the great works outs I get at Bill’s fun, challenging, and creative sessions. Bravo Bill!”

“A big thank you to Ann Marie and CoachMeFit. When I first started training with Ann Marie, my goal was simply to get back in shape. But as I became stronger, I set more ambitious goals; I wanted to run a half-marathon. We talked about it and Ann Marie changed my workouts to train me for the race. I successfully completed the Detroit Half-Marathon in ’05! My next goal was to improve my time in the race. I decided that if I lost some weight, I might be able to move faster. Ann Marie started running outside with me to push me, and then I joined Weight-Watchers. I have lost 22 pounds and improved my time by 10 minutes when I ran the race again in ’06! I appreciate the support that Ann Marie has given to me for the last four years and the comfortable atmosphere at CoachMeFit. You helped me find the ‘old me,’ and I am happy to be back. Thank you.”

“Many thanks to Franklin and CoachMeFit. When I turned 60 last Fall, I was jogging regularly, but neglecting strength work. I seemed destined to become one of those aging joggers who can't lift their own luggage. My wife and daughter, who were already training at CoachMeFit, gave me a package of sessions for my birthday. Since working with Franklin I have gained significant new strength. Franklin bet me that leg strength training would improve my running and, to prove it, even offered to join me for the Shamrock 5K in March. Thanks to all those lunges and variety of other leg work, the hilly course didn't take the usual toll on my legs and I finished feeling great (After finishing way ahead of me, Franklin kept his promise and jogged back to coach me through the final half mile. What great dedication for a personal trainer!).

“Though I have exercise machines at home, the encouragement I receive at CoachMeFit and Franklin's ever-creative variety of exercises makes me able to do much more here than I ever would on my own. While our focus has been on leg strength, Franklin has me doing quite a bit of work on upper body and core strength as well. My wife insists I continue to carry my own luggage!"

“Working with a trainer is a necessary part of my passion for fitness. I do better, more creative workouts with more intensity than I could ever do on my own. And at CoachMeFit, hard work is still fun."
